PLEASE NOTE:  

We offer several different scholarships. 

If you have questions during the application process or are unsure which application to choose, please email, RoachMSF@iCloud.com.


The grant cycle for all scholarship programs are from February 1st to April 1st of each year (September 1 -21 for CrossPurpose leaders/graduates).  Each applicant may apply for only one award per year.

To be eligible to receive an award you must be:

- a U.S. citizen

- accepted at an accredited, post secondary level school in an accredited program at that institution.  Accreditation can be confirmed by using this link:

AND attending a not-for-profit school, either a 501c3 classified organization or a publicly run University/College/Program. 

CrossPurpose leaders/graduates may apply to non-profit or for-profit accredited schools/programs. Check by asking the school for accreditation number or check by using one of these links:

- demonstrate the ability to pay the remainder of/the balance of your educational expenses.  Funds from our scholarship programs can only be used for tuition (or fees ect.. that are listed on your bursar's account)

- and not related to anyone that serves on the Selection Committee or as Trustee of the Ruth E. Roach Memorial Scholarship Fund


Information/Documentation Needed

- Personal Statement (why you feel you merit consideration for a scholarship. 500 words or less)

- 3 Letters Of Recommendation (you will be asked to input 3 emails from those who have agreed to provide recommendation letters)

- High School or College Transcript (the latest available)

- College or University's Bursar Information 


IF (and only if) you are applying for the Nancy E. Roach Memorial Scholarship for Seminarians, there is a essay required.

This scholarship award is given to the most exemplary essay that addresses the following questions:

  • How can the Christian faith be a catalyst for social change?

  • How can faith communities be engaged in social justice?

  • What is your personal aspiration for bringing the realms of Christianity and social justice closer together?

  • What is your theological basis for this aspiration?

  • How will you put this into action?

The winning essay will be publicized widely through Transform Network’s progressive Christian partners and media and should not be less than 1000 words.
